MCSO has had numerous reports of people selling raw meat from coolers transported in pick-up trucks in the Kingman Area. 

The Sheriff's Office reminds people that this is not only a possible health hazard, but also illegal to sell uninspected meat by private parties.

Any solicitor selling raw meat must have a Mohave County Mobile Food Unit Permit, meat must be packaged and display an inspection sticker from the USDA or ADA. In Mohave County, the meat must be frozen and transported in refrigerated vehicles.

Anyone who is approached to purchase meat in violation of these restrictions is encouraged to report the solicitor to the appropriate enforcement agency. Vehicle license numbers and descriptions will assist law enforcement in locating the individuals.
